Theo Walcott made his return to the England team on Sunday, playing the final 19 minutes of the 1-0 win over Slovakia in World Cup qualifying.
The Three Lions found a late winner when Adam Lallana’s strike squirmed over the line, with Walcott denied a goal of his own moments earlier by the offside flag.
Mesut Ozil played the full 90 minutes as Germany won 3-0 in Norway to begin their World Cup qualification campaign. A Joshua Kimmich strike was sandwiched by a brace for Thomas Muller as Die Mannschaft got off to a winning start.
Shkodran Mustafi was an unused substitute for Germany.
Hector Bellerin played the full 90 minutes as Spain Under-21s drew 1-1 with Sweden in Malmo.
Gerard Deulofeu put the visitors in front, before the Swedes pulled level thanks to Mikel Marino’s late own goal.
Bellerin was shown a yellow card in the 62nd minute for a foul.
