Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal’s clash with Leicester City could be a defining moment in the title race.
The Gunners currently sit in third position but can close the the gap on the league leaders to just two points with a win on Sunday at Emirates Stadium.
With just 13 games left to go in the Premier League, Ramsey says stopping Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will be the key to what would be an “important” victory.
"It will be an interesting battle but one I'm looking forward to testing myself in. They both have had a great season so far and pose a threat"
“It is going to be hard to stop their threats, stopping their counter-attacking source and stopping them from getting in behind and causing us problems,” he said. “Leicester are five points above us and it is important for us to get the win and close the gap.
“I think it can be a defining moment in the season. In the Premier League you never know what can happen, it could be two bad weeks [but then] you are back in it or a few points off the top, that is just the nature of it.
“Leicester have been fantastic this year and were very good on the counter attack [last time we played them] and have a lot of quality in their team. We are going to have to be aware of that and we can’t underestimate that at all.
"They are [top of the league] for a reason and if we do what we know we can do then I'm confident we can get a result. Vardy and Mahrez have been exceptional this year with the amount of goals and assists they have. It is quite staggering. They have a good spine in their team.
"It will be an interesting battle but one I'm looking forward to testing myself in. They both have had a great season so far and pose a threat. They have had their fair share of goals and assists and work well together.”
