Gabriel has been nominated for the 2015 Samba Gold trophy.
The award recognises the best Brazilian footballer playing in Europe and Gabriel is on a list of 29 contenders.
The Arsenal defender has impressed since arriving in north London in January, and earned his first call-up to the national side in March.
Gabriel's highlight of a fantastic 12 months was helping Arsenal win the FA Cup in May for a record 12th time.

He faces competition from the likes of Neymar of Barcelona and Chelsea’s Willian for the eighth Samba Gold trophy.
