Apply for the Arsenal Gap Year Programme

Arsenal Gap Programme

Arsenal in the Community are looking for enthusiastic candidates for the 2015/16 Arsenal Gap Year Programme, with intakes starting in August and November this year.

Running since 2006, the programme sees participants contribute to the club’s community work in north London and overseas.

Gappers are trained to coach football and teach English in local schools and projects, before being given the opportunity to apply their new skills to community programmes around the world. Over the past nine years, participants have contributed to projects in 19 different countries. Coaches are currently based in Italy, Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, Bahrain, Greece and in destinations across Africa, with more exciting locations planned for 2015/16.

Current Arsenal Gapper Shaun said of his experience: “The Gap Programme gives you a brilliant chance to do something you’re passionate about, it gives you the chance to meet people and see countries that you wouldn’t normally get the chance to. It’s been about so much more than football coaching. It’s about being able to interact with children that wouldn’t otherwise have face-to-face contact with Arsenal and being able to make a positive impact on their lives.”

Applications for the August 2015 intake are open until the end of June. It is expected that places will fill quickly, so aspiring coaches should submit their application forms as soon as possible.
