Nacho Monreal believes Arsenal are well prepared to deal with Manchester City’s prolific strikers.
City have already scored 45 goals this season, just one less than Chelsea who top the scoring charts in the Premier League.
Sergio Aguero has struck nearly a third of that figure with 14 but Monreal is confident Arsenal can repel the Argentina striker’s attacking threat.
"We have to make the most of our chances and be clinical. If we defend properly we will have a chance"
“Manchester City are one of the most prolific teams in the Premier League,” the Spain defender said. “They have top strikers - some of them are really quick and some of them are really good at holding the ball.
“They are really lethal in attack. They have many attacking choices but we can make goals too. We have to make the most of our chances and be clinical. If we defend properly we will have a chance.”
Arsenal occupy fifth place in the league and are 11 points behind Manchester City, but Monreal believes the title race is far from over.
“We won’t give up and we are not giving up,” the defender said. “We have to think game by game. The title race is obviously not over yet and we obviously still have a chance - we have to go for it until that chance is gone.
“We are aware that we are far away from Chelsea and Manchester City in the table and neither of them look like they will drop points soon, bute have to keep the mentality of going game by game and we will fight until the end.”
