Arsene Wenger says Arsenal showed "class and resilience" to secure three points on Boxing Day.
The Gunners had to withstand late pressure from Queens Park Rangers after a red card for Olivier Giroud and Charlie Austin's penalty left the home side 2-1 up but a man down.
Ultimately, goals from Alexis and Tomas Rosicky were enough to take Arsenal back up to sixth in the Premier League.
"It was a combination of class and resilience," Wenger told Arsenal Player. "The class first, the resilience came in when we were down to 10 men, and the score was 2-1.
"We have shown another aspect that I like as well, because we did throw our body in today, and overall the defensive commitment was great."
Alexis was man of the match after earning and missing a penalty, scoring the opener with a header and setting up Rosicky with a fine run and pass.
"You could see he was carrying that [penalty miss] for a while, but the goal helped him a lot to get over it," said Wenger. "He got the penalty, he scored a goal and he gave an assist for Tomas Rosicky, and he looked always dangerous.
"I also liked Tomas' game today, he was classy and I think he had a great game."
