Olivier Giroud believes Arsenal's 4-1 win over Newcastle was the perfect way to respond to the defeat to Stoke City last weekend.
The Frenchman scored twice and Santi Cazorla also netted a brace to help the Gunners secure their fifth victory out of six in all competitions.
Giroud converted crosses from Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin, and praised his team-mates for their telling contributions.
"I like moving to the near post and when the cross is arriving at the right pace it's always easier"
"The first goal was a fantastic cross from Alexis Sanchez and I arrived with the right tempo," said Giroud.
"I remembered the one I missed at Stoke so I wanted to come back. It's nice for me and for the team. For the second one, I practice it a lot in training and it was a fantastic cross from Hector [Bellerin].
"I like moving to the near post and when the cross is arriving at the right pace it's always easier.
"It was a really disappointing result [against Stoke] and we wanted to come back as soon as possible - we did well tonight. It was important to show a strong mental reaction and I'm pleased to score and for my friend Santi as well."
