Joel - I'll take my chance when it comes

Joel Campbell in action against Galatasaray

Joel Campbell says he will do everything he can to take advantage of his chance when it comes.

The forward impressed on loan at Olympiacos last season and during the World Cup with Costa Rica, and has regularly featured in Arsene Wenger’s matchday squad this campaign.

Campbell played the full 90 minutes of Arsenal’s 4-1 win at Galatasaray and the experience of first-team football has left him wanting more.

"I know that I can give more, so I’m working hard day in, day out to improve as a player"

Joel Campbell

“It was an important victory for us,” he told Arsenal.com. “Although there wasn’t all that much riding on the match, it was a chance for us to try and get first place in the group. We didn’t manage that, but we did get a good win.

“I always try and take advantage of the chances that come my way and play as well as I can. I know that I can give more, so I’m working hard day in, day out to improve as a player.

“The Champions League is a big competition for any player. In a team like Arsenal, it’s easier to play well because you’re surrounded by good players. I just try to do the best I can so that I might be involved in future games.

“We need to be fighting for the trophy. We’re in there and any team still in the competition at this point has a chance of winning the cup. We’ll be working very hard to try and achieve that.”
