Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal have learnt the lessons of last season and are ready to produce on the big occasions - starting at Everton this weekend.
The Gunners were beaten 3-0 at Goodison Park in April and also suffered costly away defeats against many of their title rivals last term.
Ramsey admits Arsenal need to maintain their concentration in the early exchanges but says the team will stick to their style of football.
"We have our own brand [of football] and it's important that we stick to it"
"It's important to keep ourselves in the game, especially in the first half," Ramsey said. "We went a few goals down too early last year so it was always going to be difficult.
"This season I'm sure we're a lot more streetwise and we'll go into it keeping ourselves in the game. We know we'll create opportunities and hopefully we can take them.
"We like to express ourselves on the pitch. I think we did that for long periods last year, except for the big games away from home. If we can sort that out, we'll be there or thereabouts. We have our own brand [of football] and it's important that we stick to it.
"You can see that we have a great team spirit and everybody wants to work hard for each other. It's a good mixture and a good balance. We're happy to have the new players in our squad too. They've settled in really well so far."
