Final call for Be a Gunner. Be a Runner

Be a Gunner be a Runner 2014

Arsenal Football Club is issuing a final call to any supporters that would like to take part in this year’s Be a Gunner. Be a Runner. event at Emirates Stadium, in aid of The Arsenal Foundation.

The charity fun-run, which takes place in a fortnight’s time on Saturday, April 5, will see hundreds of runners of all ages descend on the Emirates to run laps of the Gunners’ home, while raising vital funds for the Foundation’s work both here in the local community and further afield.

There’s still time for anyone interested in taking part to sign up – entry remains open for a limited period for both the Adult Race (10 laps around the outside of Emirates Stadium – equivalent distance of 6.4km) and the shorter Junior Race (1 lap for children aged 6 and Under or 2 laps for children aged 7-14).

In addition to the races themselves, there will also be a host of other entertainment and activities available on the day, including a fun target practice and speed cage game, green screen photography and a special race day discount for runners on the Club’s self-guided audio stadium tours.

And it’s not just Emirates Stadium where supporters will be running in their droves.

Gunners fans from more than 30 countries around the world will come together over the weekend of April 5/6 to take part in their own independently organised runs, ensuring that awareness of The Arsenal Foundation’s work extends to all corners of the globe.

From Bangladesh to Belarus and Mexico to Mozambique, every continent will be represented by a group of supporters, not only connected by their mutual passion for Arsenal, but a collective desire to spread the message about the Club’s long tradition of giving.

Since it launched, The Arsenal Foundation has committed in excess of £1million to a number of local and global projects, including those of its global charity partner Save the Children, directly supporting more than 100,000 young people.
