Together with adidas and Humanrace, we have launched a new shirt collection that takes its design inspiration from our famous ‘Bruised Banana’ shirt from the 1991-93 seasons.
The shirt was designed with Humanrace creative director and long-term adidas collaborator Pharrell Williams. Pharrell explored our adidas archives to select one of the most recognised kits from our storied history and gave the ‘Bruised Banana’ a hand-painted, paint-bleed effect update.
The distinct zigzag graphic features on a treasured jersey for our fans, not just for its forward thinking and distinctive style, but also because it was worn during a memorable season when we won the FA Cup and League Cup double in 1993.
The shirt will be worn pre-match by our men’s team ahead of our Premier League games against Leicester City at Emirates Stadium this Sunday and against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, November 1.
Our women's team will wear the shirt pre-match ahead of the fixture against Manchester United Women on Sunday, November 8. The full collection is on sale now at Arsenal Direct and in The Armoury store.
