It didn’t take long for Alex Scott to recognise Vivianne Miedema’s talent.
The former Gunner may have only played a total of eight games with the Netherlands international, but that’s all she needed to see.
“I played with Viv in my last season and obviously saw her at the World Cup as well, and she’s still so young!” Scott said, speaking to Arsenal.com at the annual Nordoff Robins charity awards dinner.
“She’s got so many years ahead of her and she’s got so much more she can give. The goals she’s scoring and her performances week in, week out… wow. Arsenal need her.
“I’m not part of the squad anymore, but once a Gooner, always a Gooner. I’ve been going to the games and supporting them because I always will, but for me from last year winning that trophy, now it’s about retaining it and they’ve started really strong. I believe they can do it again.”
