Mesut Ozil did what he does best at Everton last weekend - setting up a goal for Alex Lacazette.
And Mesut also did what he doesn’t often do - scoring with a header after a darting run into the six-yard box.
It was a sign that our Germany playmaker is back in his groove, and Arsene Wenger likes what he’s been seeing.
“He is in very good shape physically, and he is focused, motivated and I would say yes [he is back to his best],” said the boss.
“He had a knee problem and it wasn’t a massive problem but you never know how much it affects the guys. We are all different.
“People questioned [Ozil and Alexis’] commitment to the team and the club,” added Wenger. “I didn’t and what happened on Sunday [at Everton] reinforces my belief even more. What we want from them is to show that week-in, week-out.”
