Martinelli and Saka nominated for PFA Young Player

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka line up before a match at Emirates Stadium

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are both in contention for the PFA Young Player of the Year Award.

Our attacking duo have been nominated for the prestigious honour which is voted for by their fellow players.

Bukayo Saka enjoyed yet another sparkling season in the red and white, notching up 15 goals and 11 assists in a Premier League campaign that saw us come agonisingly close to the title.

This is the fourth nomination in a row for our Hale End graduate, who is also in the running for the PFA Players' Player of the Year.

Gabriel Martinelli also had 15 goals to his name last season, more than doubling his total of 6 from the 21/22 campaign.

In a breakout season, our Brazilian winger assisted his teammates five times and recorded the third-most impressive dribble rate in the entire league.

Should either Saka or Martinelli be presented with the PFA Young Player of the Year award, they will be the first Gunners to do since Leah Williamson in 2015 and Jack Wilshere in 2011.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, August 29 at the PFA's 50th anniversary awards ceremony.
