Gabriel Martinelli made his first start since January in our 3-0 win over Sheffield United, and was soon celebrating his first goal for 15 months.
The teenager had not found the net since his incredible solo goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in January 2020, and although his goal on Sunday was altogether less spectacular, it nonetheless meant a lot to the forward.
"I am feeling a bit tired but I'm so happy with the goal and even happier with the victory and the three points," he told Arsenal.com after the game.
"I work every single day in training, you need to prepare yourself because when Mikel needs you, you need to be there to play and show something."
He left the pitch after 83 minutes, to be replaced by Mohamed Elneny, but he allayed fears that he had picked up an injury, despite appearing to suffer a knock to his ankle.
"No, I am alright to play on Thursday," he confirmed.
