Mana Iwabuchi signs for Arsenal

We are delighted to announce that Japanese international Mana Iwabuchi has signed for Arsenal.

The 28-year-old started her career at Nippon TV Beleza and has since gone on to play for Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich, INAC Kobe Leonessa and more recently, Aston Villa.

The Japanese international has featured 74 times and scored 31 goals for her national side since making her debut at just 16 years of age.

The skilful forward joins Arsenal having won the Nadeshiko League three times, Nadeshiko League Cup three times, Empress’s Cup twice, 2. Frauen-Bundesliga once and Frauen-Bundesliga twice. For her national team, Mana has won the EAFF Women’s Football Championship twice, FIFA Women’s World Cup, Asian Games and AFC Women’s Asian Cup. Mana also won a silver medal with her national team at the London 2012 Olympics.

“I’m so happy to finally be able to announce that I am an Arsenal player!” said Iwabuchi, speaking exclusively to Arsenal Media. “I know the club has wanted to sign me for a long time now, so it’s a great honour to be able to play for Arsenal. There are so many amazing players and I can’t wait to get started.”

The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
