It’s been a long time coming, but Frida Maanum is finally a Gunner.
Having spent the last four years of her career in Sweden with Linkopings FC, Frida has grown and developed as a player, person and leader too - but now she’s ready for a new challenge here in north London.
“It feels amazing. Arsenal is a huge club, so it’s a great feeling to be a part of this club and the project that we’re building,” Frida told Arsenal.com in her first interview. “This is a really big move for me, so there were a few important things that I had to consider in terms of my development as a player.
“One of those was the play style of the club and another was the quality of the players, because I want to train with world-class talent day in, day out, all season long. Arsenal obviously ticks both of those boxes.
“I also wanted to be part of an exciting project and I feel like the Women’s Super League has made some massive steps over the past few years and I’m really excited to be a part of that.
“After that initial contact I obviously had to think everything over and decide what would be the best opportunity for me, but I just couldn’t say no to Arsenal. The move felt right from the start, I had to take it.”
“The girls have been so welcoming to me and the staff have been really nice too. The facilities are certainly nothing to complain about either, they’re really good. I feel like everything is set to develop myself as a player, but most importantly, to develop and improve the team as a whole.”
