Lavazza encourage us to Learn To Dream

Lavazza's Learn to Dream mural outside Emirates Stadium

Local supporters will have noticed there is a new artwork in our local community, taking pride of place opposite Emirates Stadium on Hornsey Road.

This is an initiative developed by Lavazza and Arsenal. In collaboration with London Metropolitan University, a two-wall mural was created to inspire young people in the community to learn to dream big and turn their dreams into reality.

The project is a testament to the ongoing firm commitment of Lavazza and Arsenal to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on Goal Number 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, which seeks to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth and employment opportunities for all, and Goal Number 5 – Gender Equality, aiming to empower all women and girls worldwide.

Through the power of art, the 1,800 square feet mural, painted by artist Gabriel Pitcher, seeks to leave a permanent mark in the community and to foster a forward-thinking environment.

The artwork showcases two young people whose stories are tied to north London, Maria Epam, an international Art and Design student at the London Metropolitan University and Lee McEwan, born and raised in Islington, a former participant of Lavazza and Arsenal’s “A Cup of Learning” programme.

The Learn to Dream mural is the first artistic expression of Lavazza’s community-focused initiatives in north London, developed in partnership with Arsenal and London Met, aiming to deliver meaningful change to the young people in the area.
