Despite losing our opening tie against BK Hacken in the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifiers, Kim Little is confident in our squad's ability to bounce back.
Speaking after the full-time whistle, our skipper gave her take on the performance and what will be looked at ahead of the second leg.
Here is everything our captain had to say:
on the result...
It was a tough result. We obviously never want to lose. We created a lot of chances and obviously hit the woodwork a few times early on in the game. There were also a few chances in the second half where we could have been a bit more clinical.
I also think we could have been better at managing their fast-paced breakaways. Although we did speak about that before, I think we could have generally managed that better. So I think that's definitely something we need to improve on going into the second leg.
on the learnings from the game...
I don't think our press was exactly right, but we still were able to create really good chances from it in the first and second halves. There are little things we can adjust to be even better, and I hope that will take us into the second leg in a much greater position to move in the match.
on bouncing back quickly...
Straight after the match, it's really disappointing and hard to look too far in front but that, of course, will be what we will do tomorrow into Friday and Saturday to prepare for our game against City on Sunday.
on our travelling support...
Again, they're so special wherever we are and wherever we're travelling - whether we're at Emirates or Meadow Park or an away game. Tonight they were in their numbers and we heard them, so we're obviously disappointed we couldn't get a result for them. We're incredibly grateful and thankful for our fans and they definitely make the occasions way more special for us.
