Jorginho - 'We can go and try to put things right'

Our captain tonight Jorginho shared his emotions on the defeat at London Stadium which ended our run in the Carabao Cup.



He looks ahead to the weekend as a good chance to put things right with a trip to St James' Park to take on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

On his thoughts on tonight's match...

Yeah, really tough one. The only thing we can take from this tough result is how we need to be much better at competing for the next game. Because if you’re going to play at this level, you won’t win for sure. So that’s what I think we need to improve on for the next game to try and win there.



On captaining the side tonight...

I wish I could have done better. I think the whole team didn’t do what we wanted to do, especially me in the first place. We just need lift the level.



On the chance to bounce back against Newcastle United...

It’s great that the game is in three days, because it’s a chance to turn things around, and turn this feeling because it’s not the best feeling of course. We can go and try to put things right.
