Leah Williamson has already experienced plenty of highs in her fledgling career.
From receiving her first England call-up back in November to signing a new long-time contract with us on Thursday, the 20-year has had her fair share of moments to savour, but a couple in particular stand out.
“Definitely the FA Cup win at Wembley,” she told Arsenal Player. “It was my first final at that stadium, the first time I’ve ever played at that stadium, it was just an absolute dream come true.
“I really think the other night, winning the Continental Cup against a top side, was the first time that we’ve really delivered on that stage. We’ve got everything we need now to push on and it really does feel like the start of something really good for this team. I’m just really proud of the girls, so the other night was probably one of my proudest moments.
“I think we’re all reminded of what Arsenal Ladies were back in their heyday and we have taken our foot off the pedal a little bit. We’ve still managed to bring home silverware, which shows what’s inside here, and I think that’s down to the character of some people we have here.
“Now, with the manager, the facilities, everything is really coming together. We’ve been talking about really reaching those heights together, and I think we really can now we’ve got everything we need.”
