Ten Gunners will link up with their countries during this international break, with the majority involved in crucial UEFA Nations League matches which could see them reach the quarter-finals, gain promotion or suffer relegation.
A few big names won’t be involved however, with England duo Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice dropping out of England’s squad for their games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland due to injury, while Martin Odegaard has returned from Norway duty as he continues to work his way back to full fitness following his lay-off.
But there is still plenty to look forward to during the next fortnight, as a host of our stars aim to book quarter-final spots by finishing in the top two of their groups in League A.
William Saliba’s France need just a point against Israel on Thursday at the Stade de France to reach the last eight, with William making a quick return to the San Siro on Sunday when Les Bleus face Italy in a clash which could decide the group winners. Whoever tops the group will receive home advantage in March’s two-legged quarter-finals.
Belgium also hope to stay in contention but must beat the Azzurri in Brussels on Thursday to keep their hopes alive, as they’re five points behind the top two. Leandro Trossard will be among their party for that game and the subsequent meeting with Israel.
Jurrien Timber has returned to a Netherlands squad also hoping to clinch a top-two spot with victory against Hungary on Saturday, before heading to Bosnia and Herzegovina to wrap up their campaign as they aim to catch Germany at the top of the group.
Kai Havertz has been included in Die Mannschaft’s squad who need one win to top the group. They’ll want to do that against Bosnia at home on Thursday, but if necessary will have a second crack against Hungary three days later.
Poland must beat Portugal in Porto on Friday to have any chance of advancing, and Jakub Kiwior has once again been included in his nation’s party for that game, as well as their final group match against Scotland.
One team which doesn’t have to worry about their final two games are Spain, having already reached the quarter-finals. David Raya and Mikel Merino are looking to sew up top spot by avoiding defeat against second-placed Denmark, and the holders follow that up with a game in Tenerife against Switzerland.
There are different concerns for Oleksandr Zinchenko, though, as he aims to help Ukraine avoid relegation from League B, which could happen if they lose to Georgia on Saturday. However, such is the tight nature of their group, a win could propel them into contention for promotion. They finish against Albania.
Away from European action, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel have been called up by Brazil for a pair of 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay. The Selecao are fourth in South America's qualifying table, just four points behind leaders Argentina. The top six teams automatically reach the finals.
Our duo will first head to Maturin in Venezuela before a home game against Uruguay, with whom they’re currently level on points, five days later.
