Mikel Arteta wanted to see a performance of real hunger in our Carabao Cup third-round clash at Leicester City - and that's exactly what he got.
Our manager challenged his players to deliver a dominant display, and he was delighted as we secured our place in the next round after a Christian Fuchs own goal and Eddie Nketiah's strike.
"I am really pleased with the performance, as well as the mindset and the approach that the players had towards the game," Arteta told Arsenal.com.
"Sometimes they tend to relax in this competition, but the senior players took it really seriously and the young boys, you saw how they played.
"I think we controlled large periods of the game and we were very efficient with our high press. I think we had some really good moments with the ball that we could have scored more goals and created more openings, so overall I’m really happy with the performance.
"When you win, you have to keep trying to win because things change really quickly. That’s what we demand from the players, to keep competing in every game and to show desire to win every game. That’s what they did tonight again."
