We announced our first signing of the summer transfer window on Tuesday as we welcomed Amanda Ilestedt to the club.
The Swedish central defender has a wealth of experience at the top flight of European football having spent the last two seasons at Paris Saint-German, and the previous three at Bayern Munich, but now she's ready for a new challenge in the Barclays Women's Super League.
"It feels very good to be here! I’m really excited about this move," said Amanda after completing her move. "I think it’s a great club, [there are] great players – you’ve had good seasons behind you and I’m really excited to be a part of the team.
"For me, I really want to win titles. I think it’s a great team, like I said. I think it’s [a place that has] really good facilities, and everything around the club and the team seems to be really good."
"Jonas definitely played a part (in my decision to move)! For me, he’s one of the best coaches I’ve had. I’ve really enjoyed playing under him. I’m looking forward to working with him again. We won Swedish titles together and so I think that’s the main memories [I have]. At that time, he was also influencing me a lot as a player. I was younger then, and he was also, obviously! He made me develop a lot."
