Emile's England continue unbeaten run in U21 Euros

Emile Smith Rowe facing Germany in U21 Euros

Emile Smith Rowe helped The Young Lions maintain a perfect record in the U21 European Championship with a 2-0 win over Germany in their final group match.

Lee Carsley’s boys are still yet to concede a goal in the competition and with top spot already guaranteed before kick-off it presented a chance for some rotation in the starting line-up.

It didn’t take long for England to take the lead with a strike in the fourth minute by Cameron Archer, and the score was soon doubled by Harvey Elliott less than twenty minutes later.

Smith Rowe was introduced from the bench just before the hour mark replacing Jacob Ramsey, and with two goals to his name, Emile finishes the group stage as the competition's joint top goalscorer.

England did their job securing the three points against the holders Germany who crashed out of the tournament bottom of Group C.

Gareth Southgate was also in attendance for another match and would’ve been impressed with the dominant display he witnessed.

England will now face Portugal in the quarter-final, meaning our two Gunners Tavares and Smith Rowe will go head-to-head for a place in the final four.
