Emery - Short recovery time is no problem

Following our 3-0 win over Qarabag on Thursday evening, we have a quick turnaround before returning to Premier League action this weekend.

We face Fulham in a Sunday midday kick-off at Craven Cottage, just two and a half days after touching down in London in the small hours of Friday morning, following a 4,000km flight from Azerbaijan.

But Unai Emery says that despite the journey, the team will be in good shape for the London derby.

"For us itโ€™s not a problem to play on Thursday and then on Sunday because we want to play a lot of matches and a lot of competitions," he said.

"We also want to give the players the chances and opportunities to play, to give them confidence, responsibility and rhythm like today for all our players.

"Today, the players who sometimes donโ€™t play played, and for us itโ€™s very important on Sunday to produce the best performance. But then also, maybe, players who played today can play on Sunday too. We can do that with some players."

We go into the game on an eight-game winning streak in all competitions, but then have a 15-day hiatus before we return to action after the international break.
