Calum Chambers has made a big impression since returning to the club from a loan spell at Fulham last season.
The England international has impressed at both centre back and at right back, and was named man of the match in our win against Bournemouth on Sunday.
The points came courtesy of David Luiz’s first goal for us, and Chambers says he can learn so much from the Brazilian defender.
“David has been brilliant, he has come in and no-one in the club has a bad word to say about him,” he said. “He is one of the nicest guys I have met, he talks to you, gives you advice and makes everyone feel like he is giving you his undivided attention.
“Off the pitch, he is a great guy and on the pitch he brings his qualities and is playing well at the moment.
“He brings some added experience, obviously he was won things and I haven't won as many things as he has so there are things I can learn from him both on and off the pitch, it is always good to have experience like that in the team.”
Chambers was delighted to keep a clean sheet in the win against the Cherries, and feels it shows that the team is making progress.
“It is something we were speaking about before the game, building up momentum, especially in a home game,” he said. “Our away form has been okay as well so we have just got to keep working hard.
“We have a couple of weeks to knuckle down with the players that will be here and keep learning what the manager wants us to do and take that on to the pitch.
“We have got a really strong squad, a lot of quality players. We know we have got quality and we can see that, we have just got to keep working hard and believing in ourselves and the results will keep on coming.”
