Takuma Asano played the full 90 minutes of Stuttgart’s 3-0 win over Freiburg. Daniel Ginczek and Benjamin Pavard’s strikes gave the hosts a first-half lead, before Simon Terodde secured all three points after the break.
Stephy Mavididi played the final seven minutes of Preston North End’s 3-2 defeat against Brentford. Former Gunner Nico Yennaris gave the visitors the lead before Sean Maguire equalised on the stroke of half-time. Romaine Sawyers then restored Brentford’s lead, with Ollie Watkins securing the win in the 69th minute after Tom Barkhuizen had levelled for a second time.
Kelechi Nwakali was a 46th-minute substitute in VVV-Venlo’s 3-0 defeat at Heracles. Brandley Kuwas and Kristoffer Peterson both struck in the first half, before Peterson wrapped up the three points with his second goal after the break.
Emi Martinez was an unused substitute in Getafe’s 2-1 win over Real Sociedad. Marc Bola was an unused substitute in Bristol Rovers’ 2-0 win over Milton Keynes Dons.
