Arteta nominated for PL Manager of the Month

Mikel Arteta celebrates a goal

For the fourth month in a row, Mikel Arteta has been included on the shortlist for the Premier League Manager of the Month award.

Our boss guided us to five wins from our six league matches while also juggling Champions League demands, to leave us on top of the table at the month's conclusion and keep us in the hunt for the championship.

Mikel, who won the award in January, has now been nominated for the prize on seven occasions this season, and was a shoo-in to be on the shortlist this time around after we collected 15 points during April.

Luton Town were seen off at the start of the month before we won at Brighton & Hove Albion, and then we bounced back from defeat against Aston Villa by beating Wolves before back-to-back London derby successes against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. We also scored 15 times in those games, with Mikel notching his 100th win in the competition in the north London derby success.

Two other managers are in contention for this month's accolade - Sean Dyche of Everton who helped pull his team away from the relegation zone courtesy of four wins and a draw from six matches, and Pep Guardiola who was the only boss to have a 100 per cent record, winning all six of Manchester City's fixtures.

Supporters can vote for Mikel now until Monday, May 10 at midday.
