Following a run of three wins in a row, we return to cup action this weekend, facing Reading at Meadow Park as we look to continue building momentum.
We saw off Millwall Lionesses 5-2 in our previous fixture, courtesy of goals from Jordan Nobbs, Beth Mead, Dan Carter and Lauren James.
THE OPPOSITION
The visitors have started the season similarly to ourselves, leading us in goal difference in third-place with two wins, one loss and a draw in their opening four fixtures.
In their last game, the Royals beat Watford 4-0, with goals from Fara Williams, Molly Bartrip, Kirsty Linnett and Brooke Chaplen earning them all three points at home.
ONE TO WATCH
Having picked up her first goal of the season against Millwall, Dan Carter will be keen to push on against Reading, a team who she has good scoring form against, with two goals in her last three games.
The quick-footed forward broke into our first-team eight years ago and has been a key player ever since, scoring the only goal as we won the FA Cup in 2016.
LAST TIME WE MET
We beat the Royals 1-0 at the Hive, thanks to a first-half strike from Carter.
Beth Mead struck the woodwork early on, before firing narrowly wide shortly after. Soon after, Carter scored the only goal of the game from close range, latching on to a loose ball at the back post.
