Arsenal set new WSL attendance record of 59,042

Arsenal today set a new Women’s Super League attendance record of 59,042 for the clash against Chelsea at Emirates Stadium.

This beats the previous record of 54,115 set earlier this season in Arsenal’s home fixture against Liverpool, also at Emirates Stadium.

The latest achievement comes after a series of consistently high attendances over the past two seasons, which includes selling out Emirates Stadium for the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final against VfL Wolfsburg in May.

The support for the women’s team has been strong at Arsenal’s other home venue of Meadow Park, which has seen consistent sold-out crowds throughout the current campaign. Arsenal supporters have also shown loyal support on the road, selling out every away ticket allocation in the WSL this season.

Vinai Venkatesham, CEO of Arsenal, said, “The support we’ve seen for our women’s team has been incredible, and is felt by everyone associated with our club.

“Breaking our own WSL attendance record is another landmark moment. We’re proud of our women’s team, our fantastic supporters, and our passionate people across our club – all of whom have contributed to this moment. The hard work that got us here will continue as we remain focused on nurturing the connection with our supporters.

“It’s been encouraging to see attendances and broadcast viewing figures grow this season across the WSL. We want to ensure that we drive this level of support consistently, season after season, as we continue to accelerate the sustainable growth of the women’s game.”

The next WSL fixture at Emirates Stadium is against Manchester United on February 17th, where more than 25,000 tickets have already been sold in what is Arsenal’s fastest selling women’s game to date.

Early bird tickets for Manchester United are still available here.

Early bird tickets for our fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Emirates Stadium on March 3rd are also on sale and are available here.
