Arsenal Diary: What’s in store this week

Diary

With five more games across our men’s, women’s and academy teams this week, including the return of UEFA Champions League football, here is everything in store:

TUESDAY

RC Lens U19s v Arsenal U19s (1pm)

Mehmet Ali’s Under-19s will be looking for their first win in the UEFA Youth League at the Stade Francois-Blin on Tuesday afternoon. Lens managed a 1-0 win against Sevilla in their first group game, while we lost 2-1 to PSV Eindhoven.

RC Lens v Arsenal (8pm)

Lens

Our UEFA Champions League campaign continues with our first European away game of the season as we face RC Lens at Stade Bollaert-Delelis. We’ll be hoping to build on our impressive 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven in the group stage’s first round of matches, while Lens held Sevilla to a 1-1 draw away from home.

There will be the usual pre-match build-up right here on Arsenal.com and the official app with Breakdown Live an hour before kick-off, with all the usual post-match content published on both, including interviews and highlights as well as the full 90 minutes for you to enjoy if you missed the action.

THURSDAY

1.30pm - Pre-Manchester United Women press conference

Jonas

Jonas Eidevall will address the media for his pre-Manchester United Women press conference ahead of our first Barclays Women’s Super League away game of the season. Coverage will be available on Arsenal.com and the official app, with a full round-up of everything that happened published right after.

FRIDAY

Pre-Manchester City press conference (1.30pm)

Mikel Arteta will face the media at London Colney from 1.30pm for his pre-Manchester City press conference. Live coverage will be available on Arsenal.com and the official app, with a full round-up of everything that happened published right after.

Manchester United Women v Arsenal Women (7.30pm)

Russo

Our women’s team travel to Leigh Sports Village this Friday, hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Liverpool on the opening day of the season. United won their first game 2-1 at Aston Villa thanks to goals from Lucia Garcia and Rachel Williams.

SATURDAY

Arsenal U18s v Leicester City U18s (11.30am)

Jack Wilshere’s Under-18s are back at London Colney this weekend as we host Leicester City. Having lost 3-2 away to Chelsea last time out, we’ll be fighting to respond against a Leicester side who sacrificed a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 at home to Aston Villa last weekend.

SUNDAY

Arsenal v Manchester City (4.30pm)

Saka Gabriel

It promises to be a super Sunday at Emirates Stadium as we host last season’s Premier League champions in the biggest game of the week. We’re third in the league and unbeaten going into this game, one point behind Manchester City who suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Three points would see us overtake Pep Guardiola’s side going into the October international break.

There will be the usual pre-match build-up right here on Arsenal.com and the official app with Breakdown Live an hour before kick-off, with all the usual post-match content published on both, including interviews and highlights as well as the full 90 minutes for you to enjoy if you missed the action.
