Arsenal Diary: What's in store over the next week

Gabriel celebrates our goal at Aston Villa

This week is a busy one for our men’s team on and off the pitch, with two cup draws, the end of the transfer window and then a game at Emirates Stadium.

We’ll discover our fate in the Champions League when the draw is made, plus our under-21 and under-18s are in action.

Here’s what to expect on Arsenal.com and the official app over the next seven days.

What better way to start your week than by reliving our fine 2-0 success against Aston Villa from Saturday? With highlights, post-match interviews and a full match replay already available, you’ll also be able to see Mikel Arteta’s reactions in Bench Cam, while Adrian Clarke will also be delving into all the facts and stats to find out why we were successful in his Arsenal Analysed piece.

TUESDAY

Training captured

William Saliba in training

We’ll be back at the Sobha Realty Training Centre to see the players preparing for our new Premier League encounter against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend - expect to see all the action in Inside Training, while a gallery of images will also be available.

WEDNESDAY

Carabao Cup tie announced

Carabao Cup

We’ll enter the Carabao Cup at the third round stage, and the draw for that competition will take place on Wednesday night following the conclusion of this week’s second-round action.
We’ll be looking to win the competition for the third time in our history, following on from our triumphs in 1987 and 1993.

THURSDAY

European dreams begin

The Champions League trophy

The following day, the draw will take place to determine which eight teams we’ll be facing in this season’s new-look Champions League. A new league format replaces the traditional eight groups of four, and we’ll play eight different teams to try and earn a spot in the last-16. Our fate will be decided in Monaco at 5pm UK time.

FRIDAY

Transfer window closes

Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Arteta

Premier League clubs only have a few days left to complete their squad shakeups, as the summer transfer window will slam shut at 11pm UK on Friday night. Any deals involving our players will be announced right here first.

Press conference

Mikel Arteta pre-Villa press conference

Mikel Arteta will be back in front of the cameras at the Sobha Realty Training Centre for his pre-Brighton press conference, which will be streamed live here on Arsenal.com, allowing you to hear all his responses live.

U21 action

Ismael Kabia and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji

Having claimed back-to-back wins to start the season, our under-21s look to make it three from three in PL2 when they host Aston Villa at Meadow Park. Mehmet Ali’s team will face the Villans in a 7pm kick-off, and if you wish to attend the game in person, entry is free.

We will provide updates throughout the game on our academy X page, and there will be a match report and post-match interviews.

SATURDAY

U18s aim for perfect start

arsenal u18s

The day starts with our under-18s tackling West Bromwich Albion away from home in the U18 Premier League in an 12pm kick-off. Like our men and under-21s, Jack Wilshere’s team also boast a maximum six points so far, and will be hoping to beat the Baggies to maintain their strong start.

Top of the table clash

Bukayo Saka celebrates scoring against Wolves

Half an hour later, our men’s side will be in action against Brighton & Hove Albion at Emirates Stadium. Like ourselves, the Seagulls have taken maximum points from their first two fixtures, having beaten Everton and Manchester United so far.

We will bring you all the pre-match build-up on Arsenal.com and the official app, with our new matchday show Live From N5 starting an hour before kick-off. Post-match interviews, highlights and a full match replay will be published after the game.
