Arsenal Under-18s lost 4-1 against Tottenham Hotspur at Enfield Training Centre.
Shayon Harrison scored a hat-trick and Ryan Loft added a fourth from the penalty spot, while Savvas Mourgos netted a consolation for the young Gunners.
Frans de Kat made one change to the side that lost 2-1 at West Bromwich Albion as Marc Bola’s return saw Elliot Wright shift to right back and Owen Moore drop to the bench.
It was a disastrous start for Arsenal when Ismael Azzaoui tricked his way into the box and was brought down by Hugo Keto. Harrison buried the resulting penalty to give the hosts the lead.
Tottenham doubled their lead when Harrison claimed his second 10 minutes later. The striker collected Joe Muscat’s throw-in, turned his marker in the box and smashed past Keto from a tight angle.
Spurs had chances to add a third before the break but Zenon Stylianides wasted a good chance by firing over before Keto was forced into a fine save by Luke Amos.
However, the Gunners had a similarly slow start after half-time. Arsenal cleared Azzaoui’s cross as far as Harrison who fired into the bottom corner to complete his hat-trick.
Mourgos did pull one back with 25 minutes remaining when he wriggled free in the area to find the far corner and score his second goal in as many games, but the Gunners were soon on the back foot again.
Harry Donovan was adjudged to have fouled Loft as he raced into the box and the striker stepped up to convert from the spot.
Keto then produced two good saves to deny Loft but they proved to be in vain at the end of a disappointing afternoon for Arsenal.
