Arsenal Ladies suffered defeat in their second Continential Cup match of the season with a late 4-3 reverse at the hands of Lincoln on Sunday.

Laura Harvey's side took the lead after just six minutes when Gemma Davison was fouled inside the area. Nicola Hobbs saved Kim Little's initial spot-kick but the midfielder was quick to pounce upon the rebound.

Lincoln were level when Lucy Staniforth whipped in a corner which Sophie Harris could only parry, allowing Meaghan Sargeant to head home.

And the hosts edged ahead on 30 minutes, another Staniforth delivery forcing a own goal.

But Steph Houghton equalised moments later, driving between two opponents before sliding home.

After the restart, Hobbs looked to have denied Little brilliantly but the Scot kept her composure to round the Lady Imps goalkeeper and finish off her sixth goal in just four games.

Lincoln rallied, however, and won a penalty with 20 minutes remaining which Remi Allen cooly converted. And with just seconds remaining it was Megan Harris who won it with an excellent volley into the top corner from outside the box.

Arsenal face Chelsea in their final match of the group on the weekend of June 9.
