Arsenal Ladies strengthened their position at the top of the
League with a 4-2 win over Doncaster Rovers' Belles on
Wednesday night.
The Gunners appeared to be well on course for a routine victory
when Yvonne Tracy smashed home from close range after just five
minutes. However the Belles equalised two minutes later with a
25-yard strike which, due to the wet conditions, evaded the
clutches of Arsenal stopper Emma Bryne.
A goal either side of the break from Lianne Sanderson restored
parity before Jayne Ludlow headed in a fourth. The game won, Vic
Akers' side eased up and were duly punished when Precious
Hamilton registered late on for Rovers.
