William White joined Arsenal from Scottish outfit Hearts in 1897.
The inside forward went on to make 42 starts for the Club, 39 of those in the league, and scored 16 times in Arsenal colours.
White’s debut came in a 4-1 win over Grimsby Town on the opening day of the 1897/88 season, before he bowed out two seasons later, this time with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Small Heath.
White was transferred to New Brompton in March 1899, before later playing for Queens Park Rangers and Liverpool.
