Billy Bannister is best known for his time with his hometown club Burnley but he did enjoy a brief spell with Arsenal.
The centre back won England caps while at Burnley and Bolton before moving south two days before Christmas in 1902. He made his debut on New Year's Day in 1903 in a 1-0 win at Stockport.
Bannister was an ever-present until the final game of the season against Leicester Fosse, making 16 appearances in total.
But illness prevented him from making a similar impact in the 1903/04 campaign and he was transferred to Leicester at the end of that season.
Bannister finished his playing career back on familiar turf at Burnley.
