Ted Liddell played twice in five years at Arsenal.
The centre half joined from Southend in September 1914 and made his only two appearances in consecutive matches against Hull and Bristol City in April 1915.
Liddell worked in the shipyards and played amateur football as a youth.
He did not play in the league again and returned to Southend as manager in the summer of 1919. He later managed QPR, Fulham and Luton Town.
