Sid Cartwright's Arsenal career was hampered by the Second World War, although he was never a regular before that.
The half back joined as an amateur from High Moor in April 1931 before turning professional one month later.
He eventually made his senior debut in a 3-2 defeat to Portsmouth in February 1936, the first of five appearances that season.
Cartwright would continue to play a bit-part role and appeared 11 times over the next three seasons in Arsenal's successful spell in the 1930s.
He served in the Army in the Second World War and later returned to Yorkshire on demobilisation.
