Football ran in the family for Ronnie Westcott.
His younger brother Dennis was a prolific striker for Wolverhampton Wanderers between 1937 and 1948 - but sadly Ronnie did not enjoy such fortune.
Westcott arrived at Arsenal in July 1935 as an amateur from Banbury Spence.
Unfortunately for the centre forward, a severe knee injury in just his second league match for the Club ended a promising career before it really got going. He was forced into premature retirement at the age of 26.
There was a happy ending for Westcott, however. He quickly found a new talent on the golf course, and eventually turned professional.
