Reg Stockill was an England schoolboy international before joining Arsenal from Scarborough in May 1931.
But the inside forward did not quite live up to his early promise as he made just seven appearances in more than three years at the Club.
Stockill did find the net four times to earn himself a goalscoring reputation but it was more than a year after signing before his first-team debut against Huddersfield in August 1932.
He joined Derby County for £2,000 in September 1934 before later featuring for Luton Town.
