Quincy Owusu-Abeyie joined Arsenal as a scholar in 2002 after a successful trial period.
The pacy striker began his career at hometown club Ajax but rose through the ranks at London Colney before making his first-team breakthrough.
After impressing in the reserves, Owusu-Abeyie made his debut as a late substitute in a 1-1 League Cup draw against Rotherham at Highbury in October 2003. The young forward made his first start against Middlesbrough in the semi-finals.
The following season he scored his first Arsenal goal in a 3-1 League Cup victory over Everton and also made his European and Premier League debuts.
But, with several other first-team stars ahead in the pecking order, the young striker was forced to find opportunities elsewhere.
During the 2005/06 campaign, Owusu-Abeyie made a further 13 appearances but the League Cup defeat away at Wigan was to prove his last.
In January 2006 he signed for Spartak Moscow for an undisclosed fee. The striker enjoyed loan spells with Celta Vigo, Birmingham, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Malaga and Panathinaikos in between a brief spell at Al-Sadd.
He featured for Ghana in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Black Stars reached the semi-finals, before leaving Spartak Moscow in 2006.

I can remember sitting in the stands during Carling Cup matches and watching him absolutely dazzle the crowd with his trickery and skills. Regardless of results I would always find a certain joy in watching Quincy take apart the opposition and give the fans something to cheer about.
