Omer Riza's senior Arsenal career was short-lived.
The Edmonton-born striker made his only appearance for the first team as a late substitute in a League Cup victory over Derby in November 1998.
Riza had progressed through the academy from an early age but featured only once in the senior side despite making the bench for Champions League ties against Dynamo Kiev and Panathinaikos.
He joined Dutch side ADO Den Haag on loan in 1999 before transferring to West Ham on a permanent deal. He struggled to break into their first team, however, and was forced out on loan to Barnet (twice) and Cambridge.
Riza joined the latter on a permanent deal before heading to the country of his roots, Turkey. He enjoyed a three-year spell with Denizlispor and earned a switch to Trabzonspor.
However, a pay dispute saw Riza banned from playing for any club by the Turkish Football Federation. That decision was eventually overruled, but the damage had already been done.
The striker returned to England with Shrewsbury and had spells at Aldershot and Histon.
