Ex-England Amateur international Laurie Brown missed just one match for Arsenal during the 1961/62 campaign.
He starred for Bishop Auckland and represented Great Britain in the Rome Olympics shortly before joining Northampton Town in October 1960.
Top goalscorer in their 1960/61 promotion success, he moved to Arsenal for £35,000 in August 1961 and netted twice in 101 First Division games prior to joining Spurs for £40,000 in February 1964.
He also played for Norwich, then managed Bradford PA, King's Lynn, Altrincham, Stockton and Tow Law.
Later a publican and milkman, he died in Aycliffe in September 1998. (With thanks to Leigh Edwards)
