John Russell

John Russell joined Arsenal from St Mirren in June 1896.

The outside left spent one season at Woolwich Arsenal and made his debut in the league against Burton Wanderers in October that year.

Russell played regularly during the campaign, starting 25 matches and scoring four times until his departure to Bristol South End in summer 1897.

He died in 1905 at the age of 32.
