Jimmy Sharp spent three years with Woolwich Arsenal early in the 20th century.
The highly-rated full back joined from Fulham in June 1905 and went on to make 116 starts, scoring five goals.
Sharp was recognised for his consistent displays with three caps for Scotland. And with him in the side Arsenal reached the FA Cup semi-finals in consecutive seasons in 1906 and 1907, having never previously progressed beyond the second round.
The Scot eventually left for Glasgow Rangers for £400 in April 1908, before rejoining Fulham. Sharp then headed to the United States but returned within months to link up with Chelsea, before becoming a trainer at Fulham, Walsall and Cliftonville.
