Jimmy Magill

After joining Arsenal in 1959, Jimmy Magill was involved in a three-way battle with Len Wills and Dave Bacuzzi for the right-back slot for much of his first two seasons at the Club.

The Irishman regained his position in the team for the 1961-62 season, although he was forced to rotate with Bacuzzi before claiming the role for himself the following year.

The signing of Don Howe in 1964 led to Magill losing his place in the team for good and he only appeared once more for the Gunners before moving on Brighton and Hove Albion.
