James Meggs signed for Arsenal in September 1889 and made his debut in an FA Cup qualifier at home to Lyndhurst in October 1889.
The inside-forward made a further four appearances for the Club in the FA Cup, scoring four times, before leaving Arsenal in 1891 to look for regular football.
