James Buchan

James Buchan's Woolwich Arsenal debut was also the Club's first-ever match in the First Division.Buchan joined from Hibernian in April 1904 having won the Scottish Cup and league title with the Edinburgh-based club.He started as the Gunners lost 3-0 to Newcastle on the opening day of the 1904/05 season but lost his place in early October.A fringe player from then on, Buchan played eight times over the campaign before transferring to First Division rivals Manchester City in March 1905.He later played for Motherwell.
